I still have yet to find all the tools for my home studio, so the songs are not exactly where i want them to be, but you can get an idea where I am coming from, and if we chat you will get an idea where i will be going! I would really like to start to interact with some people who regular the site, please send me an email with any comments or requests of the band, we would like to put together a video of a cover song that is requested by you the fans. Send your email requested to any of the band members, all of their emails are a click away on our website but i will list them below. We would like to do a cover that is not often done, maybe skipping genres, a challenge for the band, and/or your favourite song!!

New beat from last night, what do you think?
I can send anyone a sample of the song if they are interested. I was at the classified show on saturday night and wanted to experiment with some more progressive soft pop R&B that could include a hip hop artist of some sort. I will be working some side projects over the next year, so keep your ears out, and if your at and earthtone show and your interested in doing some R&B hip hop work then let me know, im easy to approach!

Endorsements…?
What is an endorsement anyways?
- a promotional statement (as found on the dust jackets of books); “the author got all his friends to write blurbs for his book”
- second: a speech seconding a motion; “do I hear a second?”
- sanction: formal and explicit approval; “a Democrat usually gets the union’s endorsement”
- a signature that validates something; “the cashier would not cash the check without an endorsement”
- the act of endorsing; ”use of an item or product by a well known athlete”
Anyone who is interested in one of the band members playing styles or talents, and you would like to place your product in our show, or endorse a product we are in the midst of looking for some companies! The endorsement can be as small or as big as we agree on. We are talking, instruments, recording hardware/software, lessons, mics, samplers, amps, sticks, percussion, or anything else at all. We have been calling these sponsorships, or promotional trade offs. The best way to move forward as an independent band is to NETWORK!
We would love to talk to anyone interested in the “i scratch your back, you scratch mine” system.

Bandwarz Victory! But a long way to go!
Well, after the drum roll…the dramatic pause of a lifetime! (not really) Earthtone was named into the elite 8 in the 16th annual Durham Region Bandwarz Competition. The boys stuck out like a sore thumb in the preliminary round, this could have been a disaster or a blessing, and turned out for the better!
We just wanna thank all the promoters the event planners from SPRINGBOARD MUSIC who put on such a successful event! We would also like the thank the judging panel for taking time out of their busy schedules to watch over all the talent each and every week. Any of the bands who competed against us on May 9th, if you are reading this, please contact us though our website, we are always looking to play shows with new bands for new crowds! Thanks goes out to Rogers Cable, and DDP studios for there time in taping, interviewing and photographing the band while on stage and after the announcement of the winner. WE also want to thank the Groove Lounge and the sound men for the night, GREAT JOB, GREAT FACILITY!
Any fans who would like to see some footage of the show and interviews of the band, please watch rogers cable in the durham region on monday night during the news hour! We will be watching and laughing ourselves at all the wackyness. If you don’t get a chance to see it on the television because you are out of region or just happen to miss it, then try to get a chance to head to the rogers website, under the bandwarz link there will be all the footage from the May 9th show!

EP2 Review By Kate Bowen
Earthtone CD review
Every once in a while, a band will break out that stands apart from cookie-cutter pop artists that fill up the charts today. And come January, after the release of their new CD, I believe Earthtone is the next one to do so. With a self described sound of “folk with an upstroke”, their songs range in genres from folk, to rock, to reggae, yet they manage to hang onto that bit of extra flavour that lets you recognize the tunes are all Earthtone’s own. Maybe this is from having such a broad list of influences, consisting of classics like Fleetwood Mac, Simon and Garfunkel, and Jimi Hendrix, and newer guys like John Mayer, Muse, and Sublime.
They’re obvious talent is already gaining recognition, they’ve shared the stage with bands like Ill Scarlett, Mother Mother, and Crush Luther, and walked away with the win at Durham College’s Battle of the Bands. Judging by the sounds of their upcoming EP2, they are ready and eager to take on the next step. And having listened to the whole album, (and over again) I can confidently say that step is ready and laid out for them too.
If you’re around the city, be sure to check out an Earthtone show. It’s guaranteed to get you moving.
